CURRICULUM FOCUS

We are learning to paraphrase, research, plan, draft and publish explanation texts. 

VOCABULARY

Explanation texts: A text that explains something. They might tell someone how or why something happens, or give information on how to do something. 

Draft: The rough copy of a written text. 

Research: The study of information to determine facts and details of a specific topic. 

Paraphrase: A rewording of something written or spoken. 

Publish: To produce a good copy of a text. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Research about a topic of their choosing, think of at least 3 questions they want to ask about that topic, these will be their subheadings. Paraphrase their research and write an explanation text.
