Grade 3/4 Students

Celebrating our tremendous Threes and fabulous Fours!

Literacy

What a joy it was to witness the enthusiastic participation of our Grade 3/4 students in the recent Book Week celebrations! Their love for stories, creativity, characters, and all things literature truly shone as they immersed themselves in the world of captivating picture story books. Book Week allowed students to engage in a range of activities designed around the themes of these wonderful books. The creative energy in the classrooms was palpable as they delved into discussions, creative tasks, rich language, and interactive exercises that brought the stories to life. We're thrilled to see their passion for books and Literacy flourish.

Students have continued making strides in their journey through Persuasive Writing. They are developing a strong grasp of explicit writing structures, equipping them with the tools to effectively organise their thoughts and ideas.

Numeracy

We're excited to share that our Grade 3/4 students are delving into the world of Division with great enthusiasm! Building upon their foundational knowledge of fact families (i.e. if I know that 4x5=20, I also know that 5x4=20 and that 20¸4=5 and 20¸5=4). We have now embarked on exploring more complex challenges using the Bus Stop method for solving Division questions. Through hands-on activities and engaging exercises, our students are gaining a deeper understanding of Division and its real-world applications. We're proud of their hard work and look forward to witnessing their mathematical growth as they continue to conquer new concepts and challenges.

Wellbeing

Our Grade 3/4 students are actively enhancing their emotional intelligence and well being in our ongoing curriculum focus. We have been discussing and understanding various emotions, and mastering the art of employing positive coping mechanisms. Through thoughtful discussions and interactive tasks, they are also recognising the significance of seeking help when needed. Equally important, our students are learning the value of persistence when extending a helping hand to others. We're immensely proud of their growth and the empathetic community they are cultivating within our school.

Production

Please see Compass posts regarding details for the school Production. The students (and teachers) have been loving rehearsals and the challenge of something a little different at school. So proud of our students as always.
