Grade 2 Students 

Literacy

This week in Reading, we have focused on some fluency practice in the classroom. We have started paired reading to help practise our fluency each day and we are working on giving constructive feedback to our partner. We are excited to see how this helps us improve our reading skills. We have also been practising our retelling of fiction texts. In Writing, we have been focusing on poetry. We have explored colour, haiku, cinquain and acrostic poems. So far, the Grade 2s have loved exploring different types of poetry.

Maths

In Maths, we have been learning about chance. We have loved playing lots of hands-on games such as four corners, Greedy Pig and coin toss. We have been learning to describe events as certain, likely, possible, unlikely and impossible.

Respectful Relationships

We have been learning about stress management. Students have learnt about and practised relaxation techniques. We have explored a range of ways to help us destress.
