Dogs at school
With the welcomed recent autumnal weather, we have noticed an increase of the number dogs at school. While we are happy to have dogs on-site during drop-off and pick-up times, we ask that parents/carers ensure that:
- Dogs are kept securlely on a lead - at all times - by an adult
- Dogs are kept away from children and any other dogs
- If your dog is distressed (barking, whimpering, whining etc.), please take them home.
During regular school hours (9:00am - 3:30pm), dogs are only allowed on-site with the permission of the principal.
Movie Night
We had a fabulous Movie Night last Friday evening with many families enjoying the cool, but fortunately dry evening on the oval. The atmosphere was fantastic with such a buzz of excitement as families and friends mingled throughout the evening. Thanks to all the parents who assisted with the BBQ, drinks and popcorn, and also thanks to the student leaders who served at the Candybar. It was a super night.
Book Week Parade
It is always a special morning when all of the classes join together for the annual Book Week parade, and this year was no exception. The students (and staff!) looked amazing in their costumes, and the students loved the huge number of parents who came along to enjoy the festivities. Special thanks to author Rohan Cleave who acted as the MC for the parade and shared some wonderful insights into the life as a published writer. The best dressed winners were very pleased with their prizes, book vouchers kindly donated by the Whitney Family.
Lily's Library Opening
Aptly on the day of Book Week's parade, our long awaited refurbished library was officially open for students last Wednesday. After a small gathering of the Whitney family and close friends last Wednesday August 23rd (Lily's 12th birthday), all students in the school were thrilled to spend time exploring and reading in the new space.
We are so grateful to everyone in the local and school community who donated money, time and effort to create this special, legacy project. We have no doubt that the library will be a space that will encourage our students for many years to escape into the worlds of books and love reading, as much as Lily did.
"Her curiosity was too much for her. She felt almost as if she could hear the books whispering on the other side of the half-open door. They were promising her a thousand unknown stories, a thousand doors into worlds she had never seen before."

F-2 Swimming
The junior students have enjoyed four fabulous days at the pool over the previous two weeks learning new skills in the water and vital safety tips. It is quite a process getting all of the students down to the pool and back and then changed and ready to go. A big thanks to all the family members who were able to assist throughout the school's swimming program this year.
Take care, everyone,
