Facilities
Birds Nest Swing and rubber soft fall has been installed in Playground 3. Students are enjoying the chance to use the area.
Sensory board Primary breezeway
Could you please discourage students from using tennis balls & small balls in this board. Both get stuck in the piping & take a lot of effort to remove.
Logging Maintenance and Hazards - What's the difference?
(1) Maintenance is something that is broken or needs repair/s around the school, please add the item to the maintenance log. The log is checked daily and prioritises the work that is listed each day, Jacob will remove the item after he has completed the work.
(2) Hazards are any issues that pose a risk to staff and students anywhere in the school e.g. slip hazard on a wet corridor. Please log these as a hazard on EduSafe+ - Hazard. Hazards are reviewed by Denise & Eva and where necessary, sent to OHS Committee for further discussion.
Assist bar has gone missing from JSA bus QN (see below). If you know where it is, please return it to the bus as soon as possible. It is normally kept in the slot beside the console which enables it to be easily accessible to the driver.
Maintenance Log
There has been a series of phone calls & emails made by staff to Maintenance personnel on their personal mobiles. This is not correct procedure at the school. All jobs are to be logged on SharePoint on the Maintenance Log as soon as they occur. The log is reviewed every morning & throughout the day and is the quickest way for items to be repaired.
ONLY call Maintenance on the JSA MAINTENACE mobile 0484940091 when the item poses animmediaterisk to staff & students.
Capital Works
OT Room: -
A new PA speaker was installed into the room during this last week.
The uneven grass surface near room 11 will be repaired over the holidays. The dirt has settled where there was trenching to install electricity to the new OT room and has made the surface under the artificial grass uneven. Be careful in that area until it is repaired.
Yaluk Building -
A staff "Walk Through" is planned for THIS Friday 8th September at 3.15pm for all staff. You are all welcome to come and look at progress so far. (It could be muddy - don't wear your best shoes). Please think about how we are going to use the space and send any questions to Denise after your walk through.
Next term there will be further consultation meetings on a Friday afternoon so staff can have input into provision of loose furniture.
The "practical completion" date is still in December, however this does not mean the building will be ready for our use at this stage. We will update the timeline as we assess the progress of the building.
This morning suppliers of curtain tacks and curtain visited to measure-up the stage/performing arts room for the cyclorama and front curtains. We will get a revised quote soon.
