BYOD 2023/2024 Information

2023 Year 3 Students

Dear parents/guardians of our current Year 3 students,

 

It is that time of the year to start thinking of the BYOD program for 2024. All the information about the recommended device, the cost, insurance and the optional items are available on the front page of the school's website for easy access. If you have any questions, you will be able to either email the school or contact EDUNET directly.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE GPS RECOMMENDED DEVICE IS THE LENOVO 500w Yoga Gen 4

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:-

 

1.   Students are permitted to bring a laptop from home provided it is Windows 10/11 Home/Pro/Education (not Windows 10/11 in S Mode). Chromebook and MacBook are not supported. It is not a shared device and it has an 8 hour + battery. (No charging is is allowed at school)

 

2.   Students can purchase a device from another retailer, but it must be Windows 10/11 Home/Pro/Education (not Windows 10/11 in S Mode). Chromebook and MacBook are not supported.  

 

3.   Devices purchased from EDUNET will be delivered to school where the school’s technician will load all appropriate programs prior to the student collecting the device.

 

4.   Parents will be notified by the school when the device can be collected.

 

5.   Parents will need to make arrangements with the school technician to have software loaded if they are purchasing their own device or bringing one from home.

 

6.   If purchasing a device from EDUNET, the school technician will endeavour to fix any issues if possible or organise repairs with EDUNET. Other devices are the owner’s responsibility.

 

7.   While the device is the property of the student, there are stringent regulations involving the use of appropriate games / software and programs. Please read both policies.

 

8.   If the student forgets their device, there will be no replacement device made available.

 

9.   Students who are unable to purchase or bring a device from home, will be given a shared loan device to use during the day, but it must be returned at the end of each day. It cannot be taken home.

 

10. While insurance is recommended for the device, it is completely a personal choice.

 

11. Laptop bags can be purchased through EDUNET or other retail sources, or a skin can be used and the device can be stored in the school bag. This too is personal choice.

 

12. Devices can be purchased now, but availability may be an issue so get in early.

 

13. Devices purchased from EDUNET before the closing date 30th November 2023 (as listed on the portal as in stock), will receive them before Christmas.

 

14. Students using their sibling’s device will have the new programs loaded by  the school’s technician.
