NSW State Band Championships Result

On Saturday, our boys from the Concert Band travelled over to Penrith to take part in the NSW State Band Championships at the Joan Sutherland Centre for Performing Arts.

This year was an especially large turnout, with many bands returning for the first time since the disruption of COVID-19. The event is open to bands from all backgrounds, including professional bands, community bands and RSL bands and is considered one of the most prestigious events in the country. 

We have been working on polishing our pieces for some time now, using ASBOF and the Performing Arts Showcase as practice-runs. The boys gave one of their best performances and came second in our category against five other bands. It really does show what our musicians are capable of here at St Patrick’s.
