Principal's Update

Term 3 update

We are progressing well in Term 3! Lots of exciting things are happening!

House Athletics:

A big thank you to Nicole Evans for putting together a fantastic Athletics Carnival - where all our students participated and had a day of fun out on the oval.

It was all about trying to be your best and having a go!

Thanks also to Ben Elliott for his fantastic mowing and painting of lines for the "track".

Races and ribbons were won, house points were allocated and everyone had a great smile on their face at the end of the day.

The District Athletics Team has now been selected and we wish them all good luck on Thursday 24 August.

FIRE DRILL:

We had a Fire Drill on Wednesday - where we trialed our new emergency alarm and all students filed out onto the oval to be checked off. All the students behaved in a very calm and respectful manner with nobody panicking.

SUPER HERO DAY: anti bullying

Not all heroes wear capes... but lots did! We had a fabulous turn out of WMPS heroes and we were able to talk about being Upstanders not bystanders. We talked about the importance of being kidn to each other and to our teachers as well as ensuring that we don't bully anyone else.

OUR PRODUCTION: PIRATES OF THE CURRY BEAN:

Spongebob Square pants: Wheelers Hill Secondary College:

Grade 5/6 and Prep/1 students went to see the Wheelers Hill Secondary College performance of Sponge Bob Square pants.

It gave our grade 5/6 students a great insight into performing on stage!

Our prep/ones - loved the show and Pearl the character in the pink outfit was a favourite as was Spongebob and Patrick Star!!

We had water sprayed on us and bubbles popped in our direction- great fun! Lots of past students were involved - Well done Wheelers Hill Secondary!

SPORTING SCHOOLS GRANT:

WMPS was again successful in securing a Sporting Schools grant. In PE today and for the next 3 weeks students are developing their Rugby skills. We are having lots of fun- learning to run forwards and pass backwards.

Desk for sale: Make us an offer if you could make use of this very sturdy desk set up. We would hate to see it go to hard rubbish.  Buyer to bring screwdriver and dismantle. Contact Hollie or Clare in the office for details.

STUDENT SAFETY:

Please park on the street and not in the staff car park when dropping students off or collecting them.

PREP ENROLMENTS 2024:

Tours are continuing on Mondays.

We are looking for a few more Future Stars so please pass the word around about how fabulous our school is! Tours continue on Monday mornings at 9.30am.

What a fabulous few weeks in sport with the Matildas really putting Australia and girls sport on the map!

Enjoy your weekend and take care - may your footy team win !
