School Leaders 2024

Student Leadership is important and valued at St Edward's School. Leadership allows students to experience opportunities during their schooling, to build relationships within teams, define their own identity and to work collaboratively to achieve tasks effectively. It also provides an opportunity to learn to identify and display effective communication and interpersonal skills. Thank you to our outgoing Captains and Vice Captains for their outstanding leadership this year and congratulations to our new leaders for 2024 (pictured below):

School Captains:  Louis Fernance & Charlotte Stuart

Vice Captains:       Lachlan Seeck & Mia Coombes

House Sports Captains:

 Staffing 2024

On Wednesday morning our Moving Up Day was held and our students had the opportunity to meet their new teacher for 2024 and spend time with fellow classmates. Outstanding schools have outstanding teachers and St Edward's is no exception. Here are the teaching teams for 2024:

Advent

This Sunday is the second Sunday of Advent. We light the second purple candle, typically called the "Bethlehem Candle." This candle symbolises faith; reminding us of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem.

Thank you for supporting our annual St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Hamper Appeal. The donated items will be handed over to our local St. Vincent de Paul society to be made into Christmas hampers to help those families who are struggling. Thank you for supporting our Christmas disco! $1295 has been given to our local St. Vincent de Paul society, to help families in need this Christmas.

End of Year Mass

The students will gather to celebrate the End of Year Mass, tomorrow Friday 8th December at 10.00am. Parents are most welcome to attend. This Friday 8th December also marks the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This feast reminds us that Mary was conceived without sin. Early Bird Reading Club

Please remind your child that the Early Bird Reading Club is on each day from 8.30am. This is an opportunity for students to get in some valuable quiet reading time. Every chance to read personal choice books can only help reading development and building reading abilities.

At Infants there is always an opportunity to read with the library staff. Stickers, books and lots of congratulations are always available. At Primary it is quiet independent reading in a warm comfortable space.

St Edward's Library Clubs

The clubs include:

Early Bird Reading Club:  from 8.30am every day when each campus is open.

Monday:         Lego Club - Primary

Tuesday:         Games Club - Primary

Wednesday:  Lego Club or Craft Club - Primary

Born to Buzz About Books - fortnightly at Primary

Thursday:       Lego Club - Infants

Friday:             Games and Lego Club - Infants

Encourage your child to be a part of our busy, happy, vibrant library community by occasionally joining in with any or all of these activities.
