Hi all

Our Running Club grew from 13 to 20 runners in just a week.  We are looking for more next Wednesday as well as plenty of swimmers next Tuesday and Thursday.

This week in P.E. our entire school played "diamond" sports.  Our preps played mini games of Kickball, the Years 1 and 2 played t-ball with plastic bats and tennis balls, the Years 3 and 4 played t-ball with metal bats, t-balls and helmets and our Years 5 and 6 played softball with all of the gear - metal bats, softballs, gloves, helmets, catcher's helmets and chest pads and even the umpire wore a face mask.

Diamond sports are great for decision making in a sports context.  Fielders need to know where to throw the ball and batters need to decide how far they can run.  The classes have been very engaged and the batters bench have been screaming out advice for the dug out in all classes.  As John Fogarty sang:

Oh, put me in, coach, I'm ready to play today

Put me in, coach, I'm ready to play today

Look at me, I can be centerfield!
