Whole School Maths Day!

Weeden Heights first ever Whole School Maths Day occured on Friday 17th May!

All the students were placed into mixed aged groups and worked their way through a maze of mathematical problems and activities in each of the classrooms.

They used scales to guess, check and weigh various items. They completed a Treasure Hunt, working in groups and wriitng and following directions.

There were a range of 'Minute to Win It' challenges on offer and there was even a schoolwide competition to see who could make the longest paper chain from a single A4 piece of paper! Games of Blooket related to Measurement & Geometry were popular and Mr Saville ran a variety of chance and probability games with dice and cards.

At the end of the day we all came together for an assembly to announce all the winners of the challenges and as a school we spelt out the word MATHS with our bodies.

All the students and teachers gave positive feedback about the day, and the main question asked was 'When is the next one?'
