Sam’s Mountain Bike Riding
Congratulations to Sam Jones who competed in the Victorian Enduro Race and placed 19th out of over 100 entrants. What an unbelievable achievement, well done Sam!
Intermediate and Senior Football
This term we have had a number of our Year 9-12 Sports Academy students compete in the first round of football. Both the Intermediate Girls team and Intermediate Boys teams were undefeated for the day, advancing to the Gippsland round. Recently, our senior players competed in hopes to make the Gippsland round, with the Senior Girls coming out on top after a second half comeback against a talented Marist Sion College. Unfortunately, the competition for the boys was too good, winning only one game against Trafalgar High School. Congratulations to everyone who attended and well done to all teams.
Intermediate Boys State Volleyball
On Wednesday the 15th of May, nine of our Intermediate Sports Academy students competed in the State Volleyball Tournament. After playing some of the best volleyballers in the state, unfortunately the boys couldn’t grasp a win. Well done for making it through to the state tournament.
Division Cross Country
On Monday the 20th of May, a group of students competed in the District Cross Country Competition with the top ten runners in each age group continuing to the next round.
In the 12/13yo Boys Division, Chad McIntosh ran 1st, Lochy Heiss ran 3rd and Nate Ellis ran 8th - all three advancing to the Gippsland Round. In the 12/13yo Girls Division, Zoe Bantock ran 6th, advancing to the next round. In the 14yo Boys Division, Brady Cake ran 3rd and in the 15yo Boys Division, Fraser Aubrey ran 2nd alongside Summer Cooper who also ran 2nd in the 15yo Girls Division. Additionally, Lowanna College came out on top, winning on the day. Well done to everyone who competed and congratulations to the students who made it to the next round.
Junior Gippsland Football
On the 21st of May some of our Junior Sports Academy students competed in the Gippsland Round of football. With the Year 8 Boys team struggling to grasp a win against their competition, they made each game a close one fighting until the last second. Our Year 7 Boys team made it to the final against Sale Catholic College, however fell just short of advancing to the next round. Congratulations to both teams for making it through to the Gippsland Round.
