HOST FAMILIES NEED

Dear Families

Our school is fortunate to have an International Student Program which we are growing to ensure that a variety of cultures are represented and it also gives our local students the opportunity to make friends with students from overseas.

In Term 3 we have some more students arriving and it would be appreciated if any family would be interested in having a student live with them.  They will require a separate bedroom and a payment is made to the family to support this accommodation.

If interested please contact Mrs Sharon Koning on 0419 258 945 to discuss how the program works and if it would be suitable for your family.

Mrs Sharon Koning

International Student Coordinator

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Breakfast Club takes place on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8.00am until 8.40am with the support of Foodbank and volunteers. If any parents would like to volunteer to support Breakfast Club please contact Ben at bwilson@fhs.vic.edu.au

We rely on volunteers to feed the hungry young people at Frankston High School so if you are able to commit to just one morning per term please let me know as soon as possible.

ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING

This year, Frankston High School has transitioned to a continuous reporting model in 2024 to support student learning by providing constructive, supportive, and timely feedback to students and parents/carers. Students will have greater capacity to engage in their learning by applying the suggested strategies for further development during the semester.

Please see the attached guide for further information about our assessment processes.

REMINDERS | No student pick-up or drop-off is permitted in the on-campus car parks. Please make arrangements with your child to organise a pick-up/drop-off location off-campus. Parking is available in the streets surrounding each campus.

CROSSING THE ROAD | REMINDER TO BUS TRAVELLERS

All students who travel to and from school via the public buses are reminded to only use the black and white ‘zebra crossings’ on Towerhill Road and Foot Street to get to and from bus stops, before and after school.

Traffic is extremely congested on the streets before and after school.  It is not safe for students to cross the roads anywhere but the zebra crossings at any time, but especially before and after school.  Parents/carers are asked to discuss with their children, the importance of this matter.
