Term 2 Update
We have had a very productive term at Hands on Learning (HoL), welcoming new students, taking on new projects and learning new skills!
Our main focus for this term is upgrading the hut and surrounds, as this year is the 25th Anniversary of HoL. We have been rendering the walls of the hut, to increase strength and longevity as well as edging the hut path with red bricks and mortar. We have tended to our veggie gardens and planted some native plants around the hut. Plenty of skills have been practiced such as following multi step instructions, measuring, teamwork, maintaining focus and giving things a go. We have discovered a few keen bricklayers in the group, some green thumbs and many happy cooks! We always cook up a storm for shared lunch and snack together, and this term we’ve enjoyed carbonara, hot dogs, chicken wraps, hot cross buns and pancakes.
We are always grateful for the Coordinators, ES and teachers who are strong supporters of HoL. Most of all we are grateful to our participants who arrive each week ready to work hard and give new things a go.
