Year 9 students dissected sheep brains, identifying structures like the cerebrum, cerebellum, and brainstem. This hands-on exploration deepened their understanding of neuroscience, anatomy, and the intricate workings of the human brain, sparking curiosity about the complexities of the nervous system.

In an insightful experiment, PhysChem students conducted volumetric analysis to determine the concentration of an unknown HCl solution using standard sodium carbonate. Through titration and indicator usage, they accurately measured volumes to calculate the concentration, refining their understanding of stoichiometry and analytical chemistry principles.

In an engaging experiment, students explored chemical reactions to determine reaction rates and extents of reaction. Using various equilibrium systems, they analysed reaction progress through colour changes. This hands-on approach not only enhanced scientific skills but also fostered a deeper understanding of the Le Chatelier’s principle and its application.

In a dynamic investigation, Year 10 students investigated reaction rates using egg shells and hydrochloric acid. They varied concentrations of HCl and size/surface area of eggshell, observing CO2 gas release and measuring reaction times. This practical deepened their understanding of factors affecting rates of reaction.
