House Cross Country
On the 30th of April, students from Years 3 to 6 competed in the House cross country. Even though not everyone made it through to District, we are extremely proud of everyone that gave it a go.
In the morning, the house reps went to Anderson Park and helped Mr Parhar set up the course for the cross country event. The house reps managed to cheer on many people, with their pumping enthusiasm and everlasting energy.
At around ten past nine, students in the boys 9-10 age group ran the 2 km course, followed closely by the 9-10 year old girls. As some were very new to the cross country course, many were unsure, but after completing the race, many found newfound confidence. After that event, the 11 year olds set off filled with nerves for their first ever 3 km run in the cross country event. Even though many found it tiring, everyone managed to complete the course.
After recess, the 12-13 year olds set off to Anderson park. As the 2 last events of the day, students were very pumped to cheer on their peers, with even a few helping out around the course. Anyone who participated in the cross country should feel extremely proud, as cross country is not only about winning, but about enjoyment and giving it a go.

SSV Diving
By James Reid
I competed at School Sports Victoria Division and State for Diving at MSAC. I went to the competition representing Auburn South Primary School in the 11-12 year old boys event. It was a great day and I got to hang out with my friends from my club, Whitehorse, who were also competing. We were very limited and could only use the one-meter board, and to make matters even more limited, we could only do 3 dives (in a normal competition I usually do 6). In the first event, I chose to do a forward one and a half flip, inward dive, and a forward double flip. All of my dives were ok and I came second place. In my second event on my first dive I messed up a little bit, but fortunately for me, my main rival did as well so we were basically tied. The rest of my dives were great (I even got an 8.5 from one of the judges for my inward) and secure first place in the states. I came home with a silver medal for the region and a 1st for the state. Making me the best diver in the state, winning the title for Auburn South Primary School.
Congratulations to James Reid (Y6) on his achievements, we are proud to have you representing Auburn South!
