Have you noticed the SWPBS Expected Behaviour Standards displayed around the school?
These statements help our students understand the behaviours expected of everyone at Karoo. A consistent understanding of these expectations is important, as it supports students to thrive both socially and emotionally.
Each week, we focus on one of our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Expectations (SWPBS) to ensure students have the opportunity to learn about, discuss, and practise that behaviour. This weekly focus supports their learning by creating a calm and respectful environment and helps unite our school community through shared values and consistent expectations.
Some of our expected behaviour focuses for this term include:–
Families play an important role in supporting these expectations. You can help by talking with your child about the weekly focus, asking questions like “What does this look like at school?” or “How can we show this at home?” These conversations strengthen the connection between school and home, helping students see the value of positive behaviour in all areas of their life.
To learn more about School Wide Behaviour Positive Support at Karoo we invite community members to attend our next Parents Educational Partnership Series to be held on Wednesday 21st May starting at 7.30pm. To register for this event please use the QR code located on the information poster or contact the office.
