Some words from the Principal

Mrs Courtney Hoffmann

Dear Karoo PS Community,

A warm welcome to Term 2, 2025.  I hope that all members of our community had a wonderful holiday break and have enjoyed being back at school this week!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our school community for your support during Term 1, and as the next substantive Principal of Karoo PS I look forward to continuing to work with you all.   I feel incredibly privileged to lead our welcoming, supportive and vibrant community and I have appreciated the many congratulations and warm welcomes that have been shared by our school community, regarding my appointment.  I know that my education and leadership experience and knowledge of our school and future direction will enable us to undertake our next endeavours with purpose and focus, to enhance the teaching and learning environment at Karoo PS for all our students.

I would also like to invite our school community to attend a 'Meet the Principal' afternoon tea on Wednesday the 21st of May from 2:00-3:00pm in Week 5.  This will be an opportunity of members of our school community to meet me and share our thoughts and ideas about our school and next steps.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Education Week Celebrations

We are looking forward to celebrating Education Week with an open afternoon in the classrooms on Wednesday 21st May @ 3pm.  This is a wonderful opportunity to come into the classrooms and see your children's learning.  That evening we will be holding our Term 2 PEPS night - School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS).  This will be a fantastic opportunity to learn further about SWPBS and how this supports your child at school.  Further information can be found on our Wellbeing and Inclusion newsletter page and coming on Compass.

Staffing Updates

I am excited to welcome Wenxi Jiang to the Karoo PS school community.  Wenxi will be replacing Hilary Cheng in Mandarin, while she takes her maternity leave.    To support a comprehensive transition, Wenxi will be teaching Mandarin classes with Hilary while she is at school.

Please go to our Mandrin page to learn more about Wenxi.

Karoo PS Community

Our wonderful Karoo PS community is growing again! It is with great excitement that I can share that another member of our staff is expecting a new member into their family in September - Ms Cass Blonik.  We wish you so much joy at such a special time and can't wait to meet your new addition!

Community and Road Safety

Thank you to all members of our community who have  displayed safe road during pick up and drop off times.  It has been appreciated immensely and has made a positive impact on safety during these times.

Therefore, please continue to ensure the following:

  • Cars parked in the 2-minute parking bays are present for the allocated time (designed for 'drop and go' only).
  • Roundabouts are used to turn around on Karoo Rd, and cars not to make U turns near the crossing, over the single white line.

Thank you for your continued support in ensuring the safety of our community.

I look forward to seeing you around our sensational school!

Kind Regards,
