What's happening in Term 2

Welcome back to Term 2!

On Wednesday, April 23rd it was World Book Day! A perfect occasion to promote a love for reading, which is exactly what we’re all about here at Karoo Library.

It also happened to be “Speak Like Shakespeare Day,” honouring

the birth of William Shakespeare, born on April 23rd, 1564.

Overdues

We understand that the start of term can be a busy time, and some students may have forgotten to return their library books this week — and that’s okay!

This is just a gentle reminder to bring those books back so students can continue borrowing and enjoy new stories. Starting next week, reminder notices will be emailed home to help students stay on track with returns.

Just a quick note: if a book is overdue, students won’t be able to borrow until it’s returned.

Read. Return. Repeat!

New Signs

The section dividers in the Picture Book section have been refreshed with bright, colourful images to help our younger readers easily find their new favourite stories.

The Non-Fiction section has also had new dividers made, clearly showing each category. Plus, we’ll soon be adding even more dividers to highlight the sub-sections within each area, so everyone can find what they are looking for.

And stay tuned — updates to the Fiction section are on the way!

Lost and Found Book Markers

Have you accidentally left a bookmark in a book you returned? We’ve found quite a few bookmarks tucked inside returned books, and they’re waiting to be reunited with their owners!

Pop by and see me—your lost bookmark might just be here, ready to go home!

Lunch Clubs

Lunch clubs are very popular, especially when Archie is here on Monday, with visiting times at 12:00 PM and 2:20 PM.   This week has had, along with the usual colouring and book reading, colouring and word searches to acknowledge Anzac Day.
