Dear Families,
In Week 5, our whole school will be focusing on the character strength Love of Learning. This strength is all about developing a passion for discovering new things, embracing challenges and staying curious. It’s not just about what we learn, but how we engage with learning – with enthusiasm, persistence, and a desire to grow.
At school, students will be encouraged to try new strategies, ask questions and celebrate effort as much as achievement. Whether it is solving a tricky maths problem, exploring a new book, or trying out a new sport or creative task, we want every child to feel proud of their learning journey.
You can support this focus at home by praising your child’s curiosity, noticing when they show persistence, and celebrating progress, not just results. Questions like “What did you find interesting today?” or “What’s something new you learned this week?” can help reinforce this mindset.
Let’s work together to help our students see learning as a lifelong adventure!
Warm regards,
Melina James
