Principal's Message

Ms Grace Carlo-Stella

Dear Parents and Carers,

Firstly, I would like to sincerely thank you all for your prayers, kind words and support during this very sad and sacred time that I was blessed to be able spend my dad's final days with him. While this is a time of sadness, we are comforted by the deep gratitude we feel for the years we shared with him.

Thank you for your understanding, compassion and prayers during this time.Your compassion has been a great comfort to me as well as my family. We are deeply grateful for the strength we have drawn from this beautiful and faith-filled community.

Last week, we had the privilege of welcoming Luke Kennedy as a guest speaker for our Partners of StMM’s meeting at our school. Luke shared his powerful personal story—one of transformation, resilience and hope. From his challenging teenage years caught up in toxic friendships and unhealthy choices, to turning his life around and becoming an advocate for mental health and wellbeing, Luke’s journey deeply resonated with many in the room.

His message to our staff and parents focused on the importance of authenticity, positive self-talk and surrounding yourself with the right people. He spoke candidly about the pressures we face today, especially around identity and fitting in and offered simple but profound strategies to help navigate these challenges.

Our staff and the parents who attended appreciated how real and relatable Luke was—not only did he speak with honesty and humour, but he left us all feeling inspired to reflect on our own mindset and how we can support our children to grow into confident, kind and resilient individuals.

We are grateful to have been able to host Luke and to be reminded of the powerful impact of words, connection and vulnerability.

A heartfelt thank you also to everyone who helped make our Mother’s Day Stall such a special success. Your generosity and time are deeply appreciated. A special mention goes to Mrs Nancy Kubti and Mrs Dom Yenco for coordinating and overseeing the stall. Thank you to the parents that gave up their time to assist in setting up and selling the gifts, your efforts brought joy to so many children and ensured that they could surprise their mums and mother figures with something special.

We also extend our warm thanks to the Year 3 parents for the delicious morning tea they provided following our Mother’s Day liturgy. The liturgy itself was a beautiful celebration of the love and grace of mothers and the hospitality that followed helped to make the morning even more memorable.

As always, thank you for your continued support and care. It is through your involvement that we are able to create such meaningful moments for our children and the wider school community.

Kind Regards,

Grace
