Term 2 Week 3

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

What a busy and exciting year it’s already been in Secondary School! Term 1 flew by with students settling in well and enjoying a full calendar of events - carnivals, Year 7 and 11 camps, Open Night, excursions, and more. Our Student Representative Council is now up and running, and students have engaged in leadership opportunities, including the REROC Forum and the 2025 Student Leadership Expo.

NAPLAN has been completed by Years 7 and 9, and Year 12 students undertook their Half-Yearly Exams. Our new mobile phone pouches have made a noticeable difference, helping students stay focused and minimise distractions - an encouraging reflection of our Term 1 value: Respect.

I’ve encouraged students to approach each lesson with an ‘intention to learn’ - bringing a positive mindset and openness to growth makes all the difference in their learning journey.

Term 2 is already full of highlights: students have represented the College in local and state sports, our orienteering team achieved top placings, our Year 8 da Vinci Decathlon team has advanced to the state level, and our F1 Team are off to Melbourne shortly.

Week 4 Exams (Years 7–11)

Please support your child by encouraging good study habits and sleep routines during exam week and beyond.

CANVAS and COMPASS apps

Secondary parents are invited to be 'observers' on their child's Canvas account, which is where many subjects post resources, tasks and lesson information. You can see how to do that here:

With the Compass app now up and running, we invite all parents to download and use this for a range of features as we integrate more and more into this platform. You can find out about how to set this up here:

Uniform Reminders

Wearing the correct uniform helps build pride and a sense of belonging. Please ensure students have the right items, including black leather shoes for safety and formal wear. Sports shoes should not be bright coloured - bear this in mind as you replace shoes for growing feet! Under layers should be plain coloured white or flesh-toned with no slogans or images, and may not be worn under short-sleeved shirts or polos. Students may not wear jumpers as an underlayer.

  • Years 7–10: Sport – Mon & Fri | Formal – Tues to Thurs
  • Years 11–12: Sport – Mon | Formal – Tues to Fri

Year 9/10 PASS students may wear sports uniform on Tuesdays. Variations for excursions will be communicated in advance.

The sports uniform may be winter or summer. For in-school training, students may bring the maroon shirt and sports shoes to use during the training session. Students playing after-school sports should change into their sports uniform at the end of the school day.

We’re proud of our students’ efforts and grateful for your continued support. For academic questions, contact the subject teacher or KLA Leader. For wellbeing matters, please reach out to your child’s homecare teacher or Stage Coordinator. I’m also happy to hear from you directly via the College office or by email.

Blessings for the term ahead,

Geoffrey Xeros
