Grade Prep/1

Welcome back to Term 2!

Our Prep/1 students have made a fantastic start to the term.

In Reading, we have begun our unit on Indigenous stories. So far, we've listened to How the Birds Got Their Colours and The Echidna and the Shade Tree. We've just started reading How the Kangaroos Got Their Tails.

In Writing, we have been learning about adjectives and how to use them in simple sentences to make our writing more interesting.

In Maths, Prep students have confidently mastered counting to 20 and backwards from 10. They’re now beginning to count backwards from 20. Grade 1 students have been doing an excellent job counting to 120 and are starting to explore place value by identifying how many tens and ones are in numbers.

In Humanities, we have kicked off our Indigenous unit, which ties in beautifully with our reading focus.
