School Wide Positive Behaviour Systems

Our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) program continues to be an integral part of our school culture and operations, with students enthusiastically earning and saving points through positive behaviour choices. The SWPBS Shop has been a huge hit, with many students choosing to save up their points for larger items later in the year. At the same time, bubble wands and squishies have proven to be crowd favourites.
The start of term has seen a renewed focus on our values and behaviour expectations. Each morning, we host a morning circle here each student greets one another, shares any announcements and come together to discuss our school values and our focus for the day. Students also have an opportunity to check in with one-another and an adult about how they are feeling and anything they need in order to be 'Ready to Learn'. This is an important aspect of our daily rhythm that ensures connection, belonging and a positive climate for learning. Check out our values matrix below.
In addition to the rewards system and our values, our students have been developing important self-regulation skills through learning about the Zones of Regulation. They’ve been creating their own Ready to Learn Plans, which help them recognise their emotions and use personalised strategies to return to a calm and focused state — setting themselves up for successful learning.
A key focus this term has also been on routines and procedures within our classrooms. By establishing clear expectations and consistent practices, we are working towards creating the calmest and most productive learning environments possible. It’s been wonderful to see students embracing these structures and thriving within them.
We’re proud of the ongoing growth and positive culture across our school, and we look forward to seeing how our SWPBS program continues to support our students’ success and wellbeing.
Below are the most recent values posts, which are shared each Sunday on Compass as a way to keep families connected to our weekly focus and practices.
