Grade 1 News

What a Fantastic Start to Term 2!

We hope all families had a relaxing break, enjoying the beautiful sunshine, Easter celebrations, and quality time together. It’s been wonderful to see students return refreshed, confident, and eager to dive back into their learning.

We’ve loved hearing all about the fun and adventures they experienced over the holidays!

In Literacy, we are continuing our work with sounds and words and are now beginning an exciting unit on narrative story writing. We are also having a big focus on handwriting skills.

In Numeracy, we will be wrapping up our unit on Place Value.

Students have really enjoyed exploring number charts, arrays, and using think boards to deepen their understanding of number value.

A big congratulations to Grade 1 Shannon for earning the Bernie Trophy last week!

Their respectful, responsible, and safe behaviours have set a fantastic tone for the term.

We also celebrated our award winners, who were all smiles, well done on the fantastic learning you’ve been doing!

Just a quick reminder: Mother’s Day Breakfast and Liturgy will be held this Friday, the 9th. We look forward to seeing many of you there to celebrate the special women in our lives.
