Have you met Luce?

This year is a Year of Jubilee in the Catholic Church and we have been invited to be Pilgrims of Hope. For us at Holy Cross we have some help from our Jubilee Mascot, Luce.

Luce, which means light in Italian, has a raincoat to remind us even if we’re currently in a storm we can keep going.

Her staff helps to hold her up when she’s tired, just like the way our family, friends and community support us.

Her gumboots remind us that life can be adventurous and sometimes a bit ‘muddy’.

She’s wearing rosary beads around her neck to remind us to pray and that Mary is journeying with us too.

At our school Luce is on an adventure to every class, excursion and important moment helping us to look out for 'God Moments', reminding us that God is always with us and we’re pilgrims on a journey too.

Preparation for Confirmation

On Wednesday, our Grade 6 Confirmation candidates gathered with their parents, grandparents, and family members to reflect on their journey toward the sacrament of Confirmation. Under the guidance of Mrs. Meyer, the students engaged in deep reflection, contemplating how they can ignite the flame of hope in others, empowered by the gifts of the Holy Spirit. This gathering provided an opportunity for the candidates to connect with their faith and community as they prepare to receive this important Sacrament.

Additionally, the students were presented to our local parish community, marking a significant step in their commitment to their journey as disciples of Christ. We ask for your continued prayers and support as they continue their journey of faith.
