Celebrations of Learning and Community

Reconciliation Week 2026
Reconciliation Week 2026 had the theme this year of "All In," and ran from 27th May until the 3rd June 2026. Thanks to the work of Dale Gibson, students were able to discuss key questions surrounding Reconciliation each day in Home Group:
- What does Reconciliation mean to you?
- What does Reconciliation mean for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples?
- Why is an Acknowledgement of Country important?
- Why is listening to First Nations voices important?
- How do our four R’s — Relationships, Respect, Resilience and Responsibility — connect with Reconciliation?
- What do I appreciate about Country?
These prompts allowed students to learn about and identify the cultural significance of Reconciliation and the impact of past atrocities on the Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander population.
Students were provided space to write their ideas of support on our Reflection Wall where students reflected on the following prompts:
- What I can appreciate about Country is...
- I can acknowledge and respect the Traditional Owners of this land by...
- To me, Reconciliation means...
Students across the College were able to identify what is important to the Indigenous people of the land, and what Country might mean to the Traditional Owners of the Land.
Well done to all who participated and were open to learning more about 60 000 years of culture, history and stories.
Year 9 Personal Best
What an incredible night it was on Thursday 11th June, when our Year 9 students showcased all their hard work for our Personal Best evening. Our students worked hard on all their projects over the last two terms, coming together to create some amazing pieces of work. Our community came out to support and view all the pieces and performances at the beginning of the night, including our Year 9 staff doing a surprise performance as well. Thank you to all our teachers for supporting our students, our parents and guardians for helping support your child and to everyone who came out to be a part of an amazing night.
Year 12 Vocational Major Shark Tank Presentation
Congratulations to our Year 12 Vocational Major students on their outstanding Shark Tank presentations this week. Students showcased an impressive range of innovative business ideas, demonstrating creativity, teamwork, communication skills and entrepreneurial thinking. Their confidence and professionalism when pitching to the panel reflected the hard work and dedication they have invested throughout the project. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and the high standard of presentations delivered. Well done to all students involved!
Production Camp
On the 4th and 5th of June, the Beauty and the Beast cast set off to Upper Plenty Conference Centre for their annual production camp. Upon arrival, we were grouped into cabins and rooms with our peers, and gathered in the gym for the first of many rehearsals over the next 2 days.
Among the cast, many will say their favourite part about camp is the sheer amount of delicious food and countless memories formed. Despite frigid temperatures, the cast persevered and learned choreography for large scenes, revised blocking for other scenes, and kept their voices warm with singing rehearsals in the heated chapel.
The highlight of the first day was definitely the lip sync battle, where the cast was split into teams and sent off to create a show, lip-syncing to a preselected song. Ultimately, the Six Queens came out on top, with their powerful rendition of Ex Wives, followed closely behind by Top Gunettes and Fantastic Plastics. We closed out the night by watching last year's production of Rock of Ages and ended the night in our beds, heaters dialled as high as possible.
The next morning, we all rose and clambered to the coffee machines and various cereals and spreads laid out for us to make breakfast, before packing up our bags and returning to the gym for more rehearsing. After lunch, we moved to our first full run-through, figuring out areas for improvement and accomplishments for everyone.
After a gruelling two days, we returned to our homes, enjoying the long weekend before continuing with our efforts back at school, refining and learning new scenes to put on an amazing show at the end of August.
