Learning Across the

Junior School

From the Assistant Principal: Head of Junior School

Wow, what a term! As I look back on Term 3, there is so much to celebrate in the Junior School. From the joy of the Preschool to Year 4 Music Makes Us Move concert, to the fun and energy of Sports Day, these were definite highlights that we are excited to continue next year. Book Week brought the gym to life with colour and costumes, while Wellness Week reminded us of all of the importance of balance, mindfulness, and wellbeing through a variety of engaging activities.

This term also saw many of our students proudly represent Loreto at the Aerobics Nationals on the Gold Coast. Achieving three medals across the Junior School teams was an outstanding accomplishment and a testament to their hard work and dedication. In the Tournament of Minds competition we gained third place for our Junior Year 5 and 6 team in their chosen area of STEM. The Junior School Sports Awards gave us the chance to recognise the commitment and achievements of so many of our students, and we finished the term with two Netball Grand Final wins for our Year 5 Red and 6 Blue teams. This was certainly a wonderful achievement for both the players and coaches.

However, what has stood out most for me, is the sense of community that surrounds us every day. The partnership we share with parents and the connection between our Junior and Senior School students. It is always heartening to see our older students take such joy in celebrating the achievements of their younger peers.

I am especially grateful to our Junior School staff. Behind every event, every concert, every special week, and every achievement are countless hours of preparation, organisation, and care. Alongside these highlights, they continue to deliver a dynamic and engaging curriculum that not only challenges our girls academically, but also encourages them to discover their strengths, nurture their creativity, and build confidence as learners and leaders. Their dedication ensures the Junior School experience is rich, balanced, and memorable.

Term 3 has been filled with joy, achievement, and connection. May the holidays bring your family rest, joy, and togetherness. I look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for a wonderful final term of the year.
