Grade 3 Urban Camp
Our Year 3 students had a wonderful time on their 2025 overnight Urban Camp in Melbourne! During their adventure, they explored the Melbourne Zoo, Queen Victoria Market, and the Sea Life Aquarium through guided tours. It was an exciting and memorable experience, their first overnight camp filled with learning, laughter, and fun.
Grade 5/6 News
This term, the Grade 5/6 students have been learning about natural disasters. They explored all aspects of these events, from the science behind how they occur to their impact on communities and the process of recovery.
Working in teams, students used their research to produce their own BTN-style documentaries. These were proudly presented at our first 5/6 Film Festival, which saw a fantastic turnout of parents and showcased the outstanding creativity and effort of our students.
Grade 5/6 Natural Disasters Project
When Zoe, Lilly, Heidi, Gracie and Aysehan started work on their Grade 5/6 Natural Disasters project, they knew they had to get a very special group involved. Their project topic was Bushfires, so they were excited to speak with our local Altona FRV (Fire Rescue Victoria) team across the road.
LFF Andy Meier was very happy to speak with the team, providing them with crucial and factual information regarding bushfires. The information Andy provided was amazing from a firefighters perspective and gave real-life meaning to the project. Andy provided information that the team could use in everyday life as well as if they were ever in the area of a bushfire. The team was very appreciative of Andy’s time – they even got to sit in the fire truck! As a thank you, the team gave Andy a big jar of sweet treats and chocolates to share with the station. We are very lucky to have these amazing Firefighters as a part of our school community and we thank Andy and the station very much for their time!
A fun new addition to our primary playground — a colourful snake painted on the ground for students to enjoy!
Prep News
Our Prep students have hopped straight into their Biology unit this term — starting with one of nature’s jumpiest little creatures… frogs!
They’ve been learning to identify the key features of a frog, including:
- Bulging eyes
- Sticky toes and feet
- Long legs
- Smooth skin
- And of course, a long, sticky tongue!
To wrap up this fun-filled lesson, students put their knowledge and creativity to the test by crafting their very own frogs — and the results were amazing!
We can’t wait to see which animal our young scientists will explore next.
Congratulations to our primary Principal’s award winners!
