Multicultural Day 2025
We are looking forward to celebrating the uniqueness of our school community on Thursday November 6th. All families are invited to a whole school assembly @ 9am with a Parade of Nations. Families are welcome to bring food and after the assembly share a cuppa & chat together in the staffroom.
Have you sent in a photo of your family yet? Please do so ASAP.
As a way of celebrating the cultural diversity of our school, we would like to create a display of family photos in the school hall (this will only be viewed by the school community who are present on the day). If you would like your family photo to be a part of this display, please email Kristina kmorrissey@olscwyn.catholic.edu.au a copy so we can print it out in readiness for our big day:
At our assembly & Parade of Nations students and parents are asked to come to school in their National Dress or the colours of the flag from their country of origin.
Last chance to volunteer to help make this day another great success. Please fill in the Google form to register your interest to volunteer.
Let's make this the best Multiculltural day yet. If you have any questions please contact Sandy: shenderson@olscwyn.catholic.edu.au or Bec: btardrew@olscwyn.catholic.edu.au
Positive Behaviours for Learning
As part of our ongoing development as a PBL school we continue to explicitly teach & model expectations from our matrix. Our data has shown that we need to reteach the following expectations.
The foci for the beginning of Term 4 are:
Respect:
We are patient
We listen to & follow the instructions of all staff
We respect other peoples belongings
Responsibility:
We take ownership of our choices
Resilience:
We learn from our mistakes
We have high expectations of ourselves & others
We have a growth mindset.
We encourage all families to talk to their children about these expectations...what they look like, sound like & feel like.
Sun Smart
It's that time of year again when all students must wear a hat when outside. It is strongly suggested that the hat be a bucket style as this gives the best protection. School hats are available from the uniform shop. Please make sure your child's hat has their name on it. Students who do not have a hat will be asked to stay in the shade as we do have...
NO HAT, NO PLAY
Spring has Sprung
Now that the weather is warming up, it’s time to dust off our shoes and get outside to explore the great outdoors! Some examples are:
- Going for a family walk or hike in a nearby park or nature reserve.
- Riding bikes or scooters along local trails or around the neighborhood.
- Having a picnic in the park while enjoying the spring sunshine.
- Visiting a wildlife sanctuary or farm to see animals up close.
- Going on a backyard or local nature scavenger hunt to spot flowers, leaves, and birds and wildlife.
If you have any concerns please contact Sandy - shenderson@olscwyn.catholic.edu.au or Kiah - kmiles@olscwyn.catholic.edu.au - Alternatively you can phone the school office.
Cheers
Sandy & Kiah
