Month of the Rosary

Gallery Image

Traditionally, October is the 'Month of the Rosary' within the Catholic Church. October 7 is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, and so throughout the month, we are called to develop a deeper devotion and practise of praying the rosary. This year, Pope Leo began the month by calling on all of us to pray the rosary for peace each day of October: "As we begin October, the month dedicated to the holy Rosary, I invite you to pray the Rosary every day for peace in our world."

The Rosary means “Crown of Roses”. Our Lady has revealed to several people that each time they say a Hail Mary they are giving her a beautiful rose and that each complete Rosary makes her a crown of roses. The rose is the queen of flowers, and so the Rosary is the rose of all devotions and it is therefore the most important one.

The Holy Rosary is considered a perfect prayer because within it lies the awesome story of our salvation. With the Rosary in fact we meditate the mysteries of joy, of sorrow, of glory and of light of Jesus and Mary. It’s a simple prayer, humble so much like Mary. It’s a prayer we can all say together with her, the Mother of God. With the Hail Mary we invite her to pray for us. Our Lady always grants our request. She joins her prayer to ours.

Jubilee of the World of Education

On Friday 31st October, Week 4, the global Church will be celebrating the Jubilee of the World of Education. As a school, we will come together to share some time in prayer at the start of our Week 4 Assembly. We invite as many of our families to join us for this special occasion.

On Friday 14th November, Week 6, we will be celebrating our school Feast Day. Everyone is invited to attend our special Mass. Our celebration will begin with a procession around the school grounds and church block of the image of Our Lady of the Southern Cross at 9am. This will then lead into the celebration of Mass at approximately 10am.

Following the break, students will get to participate in many fun activities provided by Kaboom Kids

We look forward to this special celebration - of our school and faith community - asking God to bless us all!

Luce Pilgrimage

Over the holidays, Luce, the Jubilee Mascot, who has been making a pilgrimage around the school, travelled to Rome to go through the four Holy Doors. These Holy Doors are located in the four major Papal Basilicas of Rome: St. Mary Major, St. John Lateran, St. Paul outside the Walls and St. Peter's.

Community Masses in 2025

We have continued to have wonderful attendance numbers for our Community Masses so far this year. Last month we had our second Community Mass over a school holidays. We had a great number attend, and are very thankful to all of the volunteers who helped to set up and pack up, and take on roles during the Mass.

We encourage you to spread the word of our Community Masses and invite as many family, friends, neighbours and others to these celebrations.
