Concert News

In September, hundreds of little scientists were getting ready to hit the stage for our school concert, with this year’s theme focussing on all things SCIENCE! Over the past 12 weeks, all of our wonderful students across every year level, had been dancing and singing in preparation for a 2-night stage spectacular. The students even made their own costumes to wear for the performances during Art classes.
Each show started with an impressive science experiment lead by Professor Science and Professor Terrific who showed us an interesting way to inflate a balloon using vinegar and baking powder. Next, we were serenaded by our angelic school choir who sang ‘Rocketman’ to open the show. The Year 5/6 Dance Troupe showed off their jazz steps as they danced to ‘Cloudy Day’.
Our Foundation students lit up the stage next with their 5 senses themed dance and their big smiles. Their rainbow-coloured t-shirts were a big hit with the audience, as were their cute dance moves! The Year 1 students danced enthusiastically to ‘Barbie Girl’ and ‘Robot Number 1’ as they taught us about the science of toys. The Year 2’s danced along to ‘The Elephant Song’ and ‘I Like to Move it, Move it’, teaching us about the ways animals can move. The Year 3’s showed off their acrobatic skills and sang about solids, liquids and gases with their 2 catchy tunes, ‘The Heat is On’ and ‘Under Pressure.’ The Year 4’s taught us about the importance of saving animals on the endangered species list, as they sang and danced to ‘Walk the Dinosaur’ and ‘Dance Monkey’. The senior school students wowed us with their songs about natural disasters and space exploration.
A huge congratulations goes to all the students for their amazing efforts and the staff at Park Ridge for all their hard work putting the shows together.
