School Facilities

Enhancing Learning Through Improved Facilities
Over the past 12 months, our school has continued to make significant investments in our facilities to ensure we are providing high-quality learning environments that support student engagement, wellbeing and achievement. This term alone has seen the completion and continuation of a number of major projects that will benefit students across all year groups.
One of our most significant undertakings has been the ongoing upgrade of our school gymnasium. This major construction project has been in development for the past year and will soon support the introduction of a new VET Fitness senior course, an exciting addition to our curriculum offering. The upgraded gym will provide specialised facilities for VET students while also being available for designated PDHPE lessons across the school. Attached to this space will be a brand-new PDHPE faculty staffroom, allowing all PE staff to be located together in a modern, purpose-built environment.
We have also completed major upgrades to our athletics facilities. Our long jump area now includes an extended run-up, enabling students to train and compete in triple jump for the first time. In addition, a new concreted, specialised shot put ring has been constructed, which can also be used for discus and javelin. These improvements significantly enhance our ability to deliver quality athletics programs and support students striving for excellence in sport.
Over the upcoming school holidays, further work will be completed on our cricket facilities, with upgrades to the existing cricket nets and pitches. These will be resurfaced with specialised paint, include line marking, and feature permanent stumps. This work will complete the sporting facilities in this area of the school and provide students with outstanding resources to develop their skills.
Our senior outdoor area has also undergone a complete transformation. The space has been fully re-turfed and now includes new seating, additional sandstone block seating, and four large shade umbrellas. Previously lacking adequate shade, this area is now a dedicated, comfortable and attractive space for senior students to relax and socialise.
Additional improvements around the school include the redevelopment of an unused garden area at the front of the administration building, creating a welcoming seating space for visitors. New gardens have also been installed at the front of the school and along the driveway, enhancing street appeal and strengthening our connection with the wider community.
A full library upgrade is currently nearing completion. The librarian’s office has been completely refurbished into a modern workspace, and over the holidays the library will receive new student lounges, flexible seating and exercise bikes to support reading and learning during recess and lunch. A new senior study area will also be introduced, featuring individual study booth desks designed to support focused, independent learning.
In our large undercover basketball COLA, new lighting has been installed for the first time, opening opportunities for events and extended use of the space. Over the school holidays, this area will also benefit from a full PA and bell system upgrade, replacing the original system with new speakers that will provide clear coverage across the space.
Cultural learning spaces have also been enhanced, with custom display cabinets installed in our Darug language rooms. These allow Indigenous artefacts to be displayed and accessed by students, providing meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that strengthen cultural understanding and respect.
