Principal Report

We have made it to the end of another busy year, and it is a time to reflect on all we have achieved.

We have seen continued success in HSC results with our compressed curriculum model. We would like to congratulate our Dux, Min Thein, who achieved wonderful results in Business Studies, Chemistry, Mathematics Advanced and Physics. Congratulations also to Christian Fuerzas (English Advanced, Biology, Hospitality and Entertainment) and Mia Vallejos-Praslin (Business Studies, Society and Culture and Visual Arts) for their wonderful results. I would also like to acknowledge the hard work of Stage 6 teachers who have led these students, and thank parents and carers, who have been supportive throughout their senior years. Together, we have contributed to the success of many students. We will recognise the achievements of our students who placed first in course at our Academic Assembly in February 2026.

Success comes in many forms. I would like to congratulate the students who have made it into university, those who have received apprenticeships, and those who will continue with tertiary studies or move into work. I wish you the best in the pathways of your choice. Congratulations to all Intensive English Centre students who have completed their studies at Evans and have left us to start at their new schools in 2026.

We have maintained our commitment to providing our students with state-of-the-art facilities, including a new senior area, upgraded long jump pit and shot-put ring, additional student seating and planted new gardens around the school. We want our students to learn in an inviting and engaging environment.

Staff are the backbone of every school. We would like to welcome our new Head Teacher PDHPE, Mr Bradley Tudman, who will begin with us in 2026. He brings with him a wealth of experience in both curriculum and leadership. At this time of year, we unfortunately also have to farewell staff who have worked with us here at Evans. Firstly, we need to say goodbye our Community Engagement Officer, Sarah Collins, who has organised our community and school events. Good luck Sarah at your new school. We would also like to farewell our IEC staff, Ms Ruth Conley-Watson and Ms Charmaine Moodley, both of whom will be dearly missed by both staff and students. Ms Mee Lin Lau, Deputy of the IEC, will be taking extended leave next year. We will miss her but wish her the very best as she transitions into retirement.

Finally, I would like to thank our staff for their hard work throughout the year. I’m truly grateful for everyone who contributes to making this school a wonderful environment where students feel safe and motivated to learn.

As we head into the holiday break, I encourage everyone to take some time to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends. Whether you’re traveling, enjoying quiet time at home, or taking part in holiday celebrations, I hope you all enjoy a well-deserved rest.

Wishing you a very happy and peaceful holiday season. I look forward to seeing everyone back in the new year.
