Wellbeing Update

Small Social Group Programs

This term we have expanded the youth work program at the school with the commencement of small group programs. These programs aim to support the social and emotional wellbeing of students. They involve weekly sessions for groups of up to 4 students and are facilitated by our Youth Worker, Ms Nat.

The MPower program focuses on supporting positive social interactions between girls, this is done through exploring concepts such as friendship, communication, empathy and conflict resolution. A group of Year 5 students are currently undertaking the MPower program.

The Revved Up program encourages students to be mindful of how they think, feel and act when they get angry. The program aims to build self-reflection skills and help students to identify helpful strategies for cooling down in challenging situations and addressing issues without escalating them. This program is currently being completed by a group of Year 4 students.

We plan to extend these programs to more students in the future to continue to support student wellbeing and social and emotional learning.
