P&C Update

It’s almost a wrap on 2024. We saw some big changes – no more mobile phones in school hours, the return of more overseas excursions, a night time graduation. Incredible performances from athletes and musicians throughout the school and in regional, state and national competitions, the Gap State High School has been punching above its weight.
Our tuckshop trained over 20 students in coffee making, food prep, service and cash register, while delighting with themed days and weeks for EKKA, international students week, Easter, Halloween and Christmas. The tuckshop also provided amazing catering delicacies for many school events including the inaugural Graduation Soiree.
Our uniform shop brought in long sleeve darted shirts for seniors, and is upgrading fabrics and fits for most other pieces in the uniform. Look out for a new look sports shirt on Year 7s next year. Make sure you have booked in for your uniform fitting!
Our dedicated volunteers have added an extra element to all kinds of activities this year, from Year 7 parents meet up in February, international women’s day breakfast, TULA concert food and drinks service from PoPArts, BBQ at the sports hall from FoEVP, and the reliable and informative meetings of the Student Supported Learning Parents Group. If you are interested in joining any of these groups, or just the regular P&C or P&C executive, make sure to go to The Gap SHS P&C - Supporting your students and renew or join up.
Our tuckshop, uniform shop and the efforts of many volunteers at many events over the year, we were able to donate over $100,000 to the school this year for:
We look forward to supporting even more school events next year, but these donations and support can’t be done without your help, so please give whatever time you can spare, come to events and encourage your kids to participate. Each dollar we earn is directly supporting activities that your kids do.
