Year 9 News

Vermont Secondary College

Our year 9s are now year 10s and have spent the Transition week getting to know their new teachers and classmates.  Some teachers will have set holiday homework, so we encourage students to set some time aside over the break to get a great start to the new year- including reading their English novels.

Next week we all head off for our final camp at Phillip Island.  We are so looking forward to fun time together surfing, swimming, high ropes, flying fox, trivia evening etc.  Thanks to staff who have put in so much work to make this a safe and successful camp.

Next year the student managers will be adding Mr Connell to the team; he will be covering for Ms Bird on Thursdays and Mr Duiveman on Fridays.  Ms Caracasidis is saying goodbye and moving back to Year 7, thanks for all of your hard work with the Macedon students during 2024. Ms Muhtaseb will remain as the Year 10 Macedon SM for 2025.

Now that our students are in Year 10 there are slightly different requirements for the uniform.  Full school uniform should be worn every day for regular classes.  Students will need to change into their PE uniform for all PE classes, when requested by the teacher.  The good news is that the rugby top is now permitted with the regular uniform!

Have a restful and enjoyable break and come back with fully charged batteries, literally and metaphorically, ready for a great Year 10!

All the best for 2025!  We are proud of you all!

Your Student Managers for 2025,

Ms Muhtaseb (Macedon)

Mrs Bird (Hotham)

Mr Duiveman  (Stirling)
