Year 6 Big Day Out
Our Year 6 students recently had an unforgettable experience on their Big Day Out, an event that celebrated their final year at Le Page Primary School with adventure, camaraderie, and lots of fun!
The day began with an exciting bike ride from Le Page Primary School to Melbourne Cable Park. The students demonstrated great teamwork and determination as they navigated the route, displaying their cycling skills and road safety knowledge. It was wonderful to see them encouraging one another, fostering the sense of unity that defines this incredible cohort.
Upon arriving at Melbourne Cable Park, the students were ready to dive into the day’s activities. They enjoyed a variety of challenges and adventures, building confidence and celebrating their shared accomplishments. The highlight of the day was the sense of achievement and exhilaration that came with stepping out of their comfort zones and embracing new experiences.
A delicious off-site lunch gave the students a chance to relax, chat, and share laughs with their friends and teachers. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to reflect on their journey through primary school and create lasting memories as they prepare for the next exciting chapter of their education.
The Year 6 Big Day Out was not only a celebration of their hard work and growth but also a demonstration of the values they have learned during their time at Le Page, including resilience, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
We would like to thank the staff, parent volunteers, and the Melbourne Cable Park team for ensuring the day was safe, well-organized, and thoroughly enjoyable. Special thanks to the students for their enthusiasm and excellent behavior, which made the event such a resounding success.
As this wonderful group of Year 6 students prepares to graduate, we are reminded of how proud we are of their achievements and the young leaders they have become.
Up Day
We are thrilled to share the success of Up Day, an important milestone in our school calendar, held recently to prepare students for the 2025 school year. The day was filled with excitement, anticipation, and positivity as students stepped into their new classrooms, met their classmates, and spent time with their 2025 teachers.
Up Day is designed to help students transition smoothly into the new academic year by fostering familiarity and building confidence in their new learning environment. Students embraced the opportunity to explore their future classrooms, connect with peers they will share the year with, and engage in activities that sparked enthusiasm for the year ahead.
Each teacher thoughtfully prepared engaging, age-appropriate activities to ensure every student felt welcomed and valued. From fun icebreakers to collaborative tasks, the day was filled with moments that encouraged teamwork and a sense of belonging. Teachers also shared exciting plans and themes for the coming year, leaving students inspired and eager to dive into their learning journeys.
We are proud of how our students approached Up Day with curiosity and courage, embodying the values of The Leader in Me program. Their ability to adapt, show respect, and practice effective communication was truly commendable.
The feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their excitement about the new friendships they have begun to form and the goals they have already set for themselves. Teachers also noted the confidence and enthusiasm displayed by students, a testament to the strong community we have built at Le Page Primary School.
We thank you, our parents, and guardians, for your ongoing support in fostering resilience and a love of learning in your children. Together, we look forward to a vibrant and successful 2025.
Year 6 Graduation Celebration
On Monday, we had the privilege of celebrating the Year 6 Graduation Ceremony, a heartfelt and memorable event marking the culmination of our students’ primary school journey at Le Page. It was an evening filled with joy, reflection, and pride as we acknowledged the incredible achievements and growth of our graduating class.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome, followed by speeches that celebrated the unique journey of each student. It was a time to reflect on their accomplishments, resilience, and the positive contributions they have made to our school community.
As part of the celebration, students were recognised for their outstanding conduct and achievement in various areas, including academics, leadership, sports, and the arts. Awards were presented to honor those who consistently demonstrated the values of respect, responsibility, and kindness - traits we hold dear at Le Page. It was truly inspiring to see the pride in each student’s eyes as they received their recognition, knowing the hard work and effort that led to these moments.
One of the most emotional parts of the evening was hearing the heartfelt messages from their teachers, who shared cherished memories, funny anecdotes, and words of wisdom for the journey ahead. It is never easy to say goodbye to a group of students who have brought so much energy and positivity to our school. We will deeply miss their laughter, leadership, and unique contributions to the Le Page family.
As we bid farewell to our Year 6 students, we remind them of the powerful words of Stephen Covey:
"I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions."
These words resonate deeply as we send them off to high school, confident in their ability to make choices that will shape their futures and empower them to achieve greatness.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents and guardians who have supported their children and partnered with us throughout their primary school years. Together, we have helped nurture a wonderful group of young leaders, and we are so proud of what they have achieved.
To our graduates: we wish you every success in the exciting journey ahead and hope you carry the lessons, friendships, and values from Le Page Primary School with you always.
Thank You for a Wonderful 2024
As we reach the end of another incredible year at Le Page Primary, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your ongoing kindness, support, and partnership in making 2024 such a successful and memorable year. Together, we have accomplished so much, and our school community is stronger than ever because of your involvement and care.
This year was again, filled with outstanding highlights and achievements:
The Swimming Program gave our students an essential life skill and a fun way to stay active and healthy, building their water confidence and safety awareness.
Year 3-4 and Year 5-6 Camps provided opportunities for our students to develop independence, teamwork, and resilience while creating lasting memories with their friends and teachers.
Our Concert was a magical showcase of talent and creativity, bringing our theme of “Songs of Love and Peace” to life through music and performance.
The Art Show displayed the remarkable creativity of our students, transforming the school into a vibrant gallery filled with their artistic expressions.
Sporting Clinics, including a visit from AFL players, inspired students to stay active and dream big while learning valuable skills from professional athletes.
The Cross Country Run encouraged students to challenge themselves physically while enjoying the outdoors and cheering each other on.
- Special Lunches brought excitement and delicious treats, fostering a sense of community and shared joy.
The Social and Fundraising Team excelled once again, raising over $30,000 this year! These funds contributed to many improvements, including the much-needed Chicken Fence and the addition of more chickens to our beloved school farm. The school's new sound system has been ordered. The team's dedication to creating memorable events and supporting our school is truly commendable.
Our Auslan Visitors enriched our students’ understanding of inclusivity and communication, with students learning to sign the National Anthem and Acknowledgement of Country.
Programs like Body Bright, Peaceful Classrooms, and Peaceful Kids were instrumental in nurturing student wellbeing, teaching important life skills, emotional regulation, and mindfulness practices. The Bridge Builders Program also equipped students with valuable tools for conflict resolution and maintaining positive relationships.
We are so proud of the incredible growth we have seen in our students, not only academically but also socially and emotionally. This growth has been supported by the strong partnerships between families and our school. Your encouragement, involvement, and dedication to your children’s education have made all the difference.
As we look forward to 2025, we carry with us the values that define our Le Page community - kindness, resilience, and a love for learning. Thank you for being part of this journey and for trusting us with your children’s growth and development.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season filled with family, relaxation, and happy memories. We cannot wait to see you in the new year for another fantastic chapter at Le Page Primary School.
