Fantastic 3/4
Term 4 Week 11 2024
What have we been up to?
It’s hard to believe that we’ve reached the end of another year. Students have done an amazing job maintaining their routines right up until the final day of the year and greatly enjoyed the class party and Movie on Tuesday. Over the last two weeks students have still been busily learning and revising concepts learnt throughout 2024.
In Reading, students have continued working through their class novels and finishing the wonderful stories by Roald Dahl. They’ve been building their comprehension skills through inferring and investigating the text’s deeper meaning and author’s intention.
In Writing, students have finalised a number of larger persuasive text projects which have included a persuasive poster about an animal misconception. These topics ranged from “Why Sharks are not really that dangerous” to “Penguins can’t fly”. Students have also been putting their persuasive skills into action by writing a persuasive speech to convince their classmates about different topics that are important to them.
In Maths, students have been revising concepts learnt throughout the year including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Students have also thoroughly enjoyed creating their multiplication flower gardens.
In Science, students concluded their exploration of forces by creating informative posters about traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander games. These posters highlighted details about the games and explained the forces at play.
The students had a fantastic time celebrating the end of the year with our class party, Kris Kringle, and the 3/4 bike ride. It has truly been a wonderful year, and these activities were a perfect way to wrap it up. Thank you all for your support throughout the year. Wishing you a safe and joyful Christmas and New Year!
