Leadership Communication

Dear Families,
Welcome to the 2025 school year at St Thomas the Apostle. It was wonderful to see the joy and eagerness with which students, staff and families reconnected after the summer break.
School Communication
It was lovely to see so many parents dropping off this morning. When the music begins this is the time for every child to begin lining up and for parents to say goodbye.
Should you need to communicate something to your child's teacher please do so by email before 8.30am. All teacher emails are listed on community pages.
We use the school newsletter to keep parents informed about what is happening at school from week to week. We also include a page for each year level & curriculum area where you can find important information about the learning that is taking place in our classrooms.
Seesaw
Seesaw is used to provide families with an insight into their child's learning. Teachers will use this platform to share images or short videos across the weeks. This will be set up by next week for family members to be connected to.

ICT User Agreement
Sorry about the confusing start to this process. It has been fixed. Keep reading for the information about the ICT User Agreement...
Each year, we require all of our parents and caregivers to complete an item on PAM (Parent Access Module). This is to allow your child (or children) to use Chromebook or iPad devices at school.
There is an attachment in the PAM Connect Survey called 'ICT User Agreement'. A copy was also attached in an email. The teachers will be discussing this document in class but it is critically important that it comes from the family too. Why? ...because technology is used in the home and at school. Our students need to know that we are all on the same page.
Once you have completed the PAM survey (it's a very quick YES or NO) then your child will be allowed to use a device here at school. If it is not completed, then your child will not be able to use a device. If you could complete it by this weekend, that would be great. When you login to your PAM account, look for the notifications to get this job done.
Years 3 & 5 National Assessment Literacy and Numeracy - NAPLAN
Our students in Years 3 and 5 will be completing NAPLAN between the 12th to the 24th March 2025. The majority of assessments will be completed between the 12th to the 17th March. We ask that families avoid planned absences at this time to ensure that all students are able to participate with their peers. Please see the information for families which outlines the purpose of these assessments, what will be assessed and what you can do to support your child.
We emphasise that these assessments reflect one day in the life of each student and, as such, use this information to monitor student progress and to inform teaching where possible. This should not a stressful time for your child and extensive preparation by families or students is not required.
