Message from the Head of Secondary

Head of Secondary

As we wrap up Semester 2, Secondary students have participated in activities that have contributed to their personal growth and learning.

One of the standout events for our Year 9 students was the mission work at Pinchapoo, where they actively helped pack and distribute essential care packages to those in need. This experience was a powerful opportunity for students to develop empathy and give back to the community. In addition, the Year 9 City Experience excursions allowed students to explore the vibrant cityscape, engage with local history, and broaden their understanding of the cultural and social fabric of our city.

Our Secondary School Debating team has demonstrated impressive dedication and skill, competing in several local and regional debates. Through these challenges, students sharpened their public speaking, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities, gaining confidence and experience in articulating their perspectives on various issues.

Our Outdoor Education program also provided students with a memorable paddleboarding excursion, where they learned valuable water safety skills, built camaraderie, and enjoyed time outdoors. These experiences have allowed our students to push themselves physically and intellectually, while building a deeper connection with nature and one another.

As we approach the end of the semester, our students have also navigated their first round of exams, marking an important milestone in their academic journeys. The exam period was a time of reflection, hard work, and growth, with students putting into practice all they have learned in the classroom throughout the semester. To round off the term, the Secondary Music Concert was a wonderful celebration of the musical talent within our school, showcasing performances from choirs, bands, and soloists. Overall, Semester 2 has been an action-packed and rewarding time, full of opportunities for students to learn, engage, and excel in a variety of areas.
