Holiday Program Highlights - Spring Carnival

During the two weeks of the Spring Holidays, where an engaging and enriching experience for everyone involved in our program. Throughout the two weeks, TheirCare Boroondara Park provided various learning environments daily including creative, physical health, scientific, experiential, natural, cultural, exciting and cooking experiences such as our visits to the Royal Botanic Gardens and Luna Park. Each day was packed with fun and educational experiences. On Monday morning, the highlight was making spring season related crafts, making lime jelly and learning new sports skills. Most activities were created as part of the TheirCare intentional teaching plan for the holidays. In addition, staff at the service also designed activities to further maximise learning opportunities and experiences. On Tuesday, the highlight was when Emily the magician came to TheirCare, we all enjoyed developing and showcasing our own magical skills. The holiday program also featured other activities such as, soccer, making Honey Joys, visiting Luna Park and going on the rides, planting and learning about our natural environments all aimed at extending the children's understanding the elements of spring season and cultural sensitivity through team sports. As the end of Term 4 approaches, we are excited to see many more explorers joining us for the upcoming holidays and to continue to deliver exciting and engaging activities for our inquisitive learners during these Summer Holidays.

At TheirCare we have been using our imagination through “Fairy” related crafts and cooking experiences. Throughout the week, we provided various learning environments daily including creative, cooking and outdoor games, science experiments, including the Crystal Growing. Each day was packed with various educational experiences. On Monday the highlight was eating our Dippy Eggs for breakfast and learning about where crystals come from and how they are made. Tuesday’s highlight was making Pixie Puffs and Wednesdays favourite activity was making Watermelon and Green Apple Popsicles. These activities where part of our program plan for the week, designed to encourage our children to explore their imagination in safe environments. The week also featured Poison Balls, DIY Fairy costumes, Fairy Musical Chairs. As always, the program was developed collaboratively with input from children and educators, ensuring a rich and meaningful learning experience for all participants.

Our theme for this week (Week 10) focuses on learning and activities related to discovering and exploring the deep “Sea Monsters”. This week the children attending will be involved in baking to Seashell Cookies and designing their own Sea Monster. We would love for you to come down and check out what's happening.

Week 11 is all about the magic of Christmas during "Merry and Bright Week". Next week we have many exciting holiday activities including, 3D Gingerbread Cookies and making our very own Pom Pom Wreaths and Christmas Stockings.
