Highlights from Heights Campus

The count down to holidays has well and truly begun!  But… that doesn’t mean the learning has stopped!

Students across all learning centres are working as hard as ever, maximising the time they have left in this school year. It is wonderful to walk around the Heights Campus and see student of all ages experiencing the joy of reading.

Some of our wonderful SLC students have demonstrated how much they love reading and books by helping out in the library. At the end of each term the library books are sorted and categorised. It’s a huge job but many hands make light work!

Normal classroom lessons are also still happening across the school. During literacy session students are engaging in tasks designed to improve their comprehension and decoding skills. Some activities require students to record their understandings on paper whilst others practise skills online using programs such as the Reading Eggs.

Similarly students use a mixture of technology and paper-based activities to show their understandings and develop their skills during Mathematics sessions.

As always at Springvale Rise, learning is not confined to the classroom, our Hub kitchen has been filled with smiling students throughout the year.  This week one lucky group from SLC had the opportunity to cook with Miss Lisa, and their creation was delicious!

Let’s not forget the teachers, as the year winds to an end as they are still working hard, supporting the students in their class whilst also busily preparing for next year!!

There are many things to still look forward to in this final week of term, lets make sure that students finish the year strong by being at school every day so they don’t miss out on the many fun and  important experiences that are still to come!
