From the Principal's Desk

The School Year Comes to a Close

As we approach the end of the year, I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to our entire Springvale Rise Primary School community - our students, staff, parents/guardians, and partner organisations. Thank you all for your dedication to your learning and work, and for the unwavering support you have shown throughout the 2024 school year. Without a doubt, Springvale Rise Primary School holds a very special place in my heart, and I am truly privileged to serve as the Principal of this exceptional school.

During the final week of school, there are many special events that will take place. This year our Year 6 Graduation Ceremony will be held on Wednesday December 18th, and once again it will be held in the Springvale Town Hall, providing an opportunity for the graduating students and their families to celebrate this very special event together.

Our End of Year Whole School Assembly and Awards Presentation will take place at the Springvale Town Hall, starting at 9:30 am on Thursday, December 19th. This is a special occasion, offering us the chance to come together as a school community to celebrate student achievements, showcase performances, and honour everything that makes Springvale Rise unique. The 2024 Community Gathering will once again be held on the Springvale Campus, where we will continue the celebrations with more presentations and performances. We warmly invite all immediate family members to attend both events.

Each Learning Centre will also be enjoying a number of very special end of year activities, and all Year F - 5 students will get to meet their 2025  teacher on the very last day of term.

Exciting News!   Our school community has been working on something truly special – our very own Indigenous polo shirt! We’ve had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with talented Aboriginal artist Ky-ya Nicholson Ward, a 22-year-old Wurundjeri, Dja Dja Wurrung, Ngurai illum Wurrung, German, and Irish woman based in Naarm (Melbourne).

Ky-ya has had input from our students and staff to create a design that reflects the heart of our school. Through shared conversations, we explored themes that encapsulate who we are, celebrating the unique connection between our two campuses, united as one school. A key inspiration in the design is the significance of Mile Creek, the natural landmark that connects and separates our communities. This project has been a true collaboration, weaving together culture, creativity, and community. We can’t wait to share the final product with you – stay tuned!

Finally,  please  . . . . . . . . . don’t forget that Term 4 concludes  at 1:30pm on Friday, December 20th.

Best wishes for the summer holiday break.

And last but definitely not least, please join me in wishing our graduating class of 2024 all the very best for their future endeavours. We will all look forward to hearing about their successes over the coming years

Keep smiling.
