Live for Lily Charity

To the Macleod College Community
I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your many contributions this year to the Live for Lily Charity. Whether you bought a beanie, a sausage, a hamburger wrap or donated to see someone ice bucketed earlier this year, your funds have all gone towards a fabulous cause. As many of you know, my niece Lily passed away at age 9 from liver cancer in 2014 and since that time I have been fundraising by riding my bike 1000km each April school holidays, with a team of like-minded enthusiasts, all in the name of raising funds to research and eventually find a cure for childhood cancer.
The Live for Lily Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers so all the money we raise goes to the foundation to fund research through the Children’s Cancer Institute in Sydney and the Murdoch Centre here in Melbourne. The funds we have raised are making a huge difference and I just want to thank you so much for your continued support of this charity.
This year through our 2 Live for Lily fundraising efforts (the ice bucket challenge in term 1 and the sausage sizzle in term 4) we have raised a grand total of $2114. Amazing!
A fantastic effort, every cent is now being used to get us closer to finding a cure.
Next year’s 2025 Ride for Lily sees our ride team head to NSW & QLD - riding 1000 km from Port Macquarie to Noosa. I will again be riding for all the children who have lost their battle, for the families that continue to suffer, and for all the kids who have survived or are still fighting. I will be riding to fund research to find a cure, so no more kids have to fight cancer. If you would like to help in any way or are just interested in finding out more about this great charity, please see the links below.
Finally, I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season and look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
Warm regards and Merry Christmas
