Nude Food!

What’s so special about nude food? Well nude food has no outer wrappings, no single use plastic and is just better for the environment. This reduces the amount of ‘stuff’ in lunch boxes that needs to go to landfill. Reusable containers are a much better option so you can bring your favourite snacks without all the extra soft plastics. Did you know that on average Australians use 147kgs of plastic per person each year and only 14% of that is recycled!?
Nude food encourages students to eat healthier and to take more care of the environment. This term we are wanting to encourage families and the community to join us in extending our nude food program from morning fruit and veggie snacks to recess and lunch. To make this easier in the first week of every month on the newsletter we will include lunch box ideas. With fruit snacks, recess and lunch recipes that have fruits and veggies that are in season.
Food that isn’t in season has usually travelled really far just for us to eat it. Typically if you eat a tomato in winter it has probably travelled many, many kilometres to get here. When food isn’t in season it usually isn’t ripe and tastes horrible. Plus it uses a lot of greenhouse gases for it to be transported. So therefore you should definitely just get food that's in season.
