NSW PSSA Athletics

On Wednesday, Brooke Graham competed at the NSW PSSA Athletics championships in Sydney for Shot Put. This was a wonderful experience for Brooke and has given her the motivation to achieve again next year. Congratulations on reaching this level Brooke. We are very proud of your efforts!

Diocesan Cricket Trials

Last Friday, Angus Falconer, Matt Pietsch, Josh Pietsch and Claire Bailey participated in the Diocesan Cricket Trials in Moree. These students played well and displayed great cricket skills and sportsmanship. Congratulations to Claire who was selected in the girls cricket team!

Touch Football Gala Day - Inverell

Next Friday, the 1st of November, we will be taking some stage 2 and 3 students to Inverell for the Armidale Diocesan Touch Football gala day. At this stage we will be taking 5 teams over. Compass notes have been sent out and are due back today (Friday 25th November) so that I can nominate teams. If you are having trouble using Compass, please contact the school.

In preparation for this event, our students have been practising the rules and game of touch football. We also have a development officer from Touch NSW, Mikayla Sheather, running skills sessions next Thursday.

If your child would like to learn more about Touch Football, a junior competition has started in Glen Innes. It runs on Thursday afternoons at Wilson Park. This is an excellent opportunity for children in our town to play this sport. You can find out more on the Glen Innes Touch Football Facebook Page.

Water Awareness

Monday 11th to Thursday 14th November will see our annual Water Awareness sessions take place at the Glen Innes Aquatic Centre. Water Awareness is no longer part of the PD/H/PE Syllabus, however as a school, we value the need for lessons in this area. Fortunately, due to a number of highly skilled and qualified instructors in our town, we have continued to have this part of our school program. Keep an eye out for this event note on Compass.
