YEAR 12 NEWS
Kellie Boyd - Year 12 Deputy (Rel)
What a busy term, term 3 is for all Year 12 students and their families. I too would like to congratulate Year 12 on their conduct and approach to the HSC Trial exams. I look forward to seeing the rewards of your commitment shining through in your achievements in the months ahead.
The remainder of this term is vital to ensure course content is finalised, and opportunities to gain feedback on HSC preparation are made available to all students. Those who do not perform as they would have hoped or expected in the HSC Trial exams must see their time in class for the remainder of the term as crucial.
A great deal of important information will be distributed to Year 12 in the months ahead. Some of this will be about NESA and your HSC, other information will be to assist involvement in exciting events such as Graduation and the Formal, and there will be information to assist and prepare students for their ‘what next’ pathways on leaving school. Please take the time to read, act on and/or save information that is appropriate to you and your situation.
Attendance and the Formal
As previously communicated in emails and letters regarding the 2024 Year 12 Formal, Wyndham College has an expectation that students 'achieve and maintain satisfactory and consistent school attendance in all classes' in order to ensure attendance at the Formal.
The Formal is 'conditional on a student meeting Wyndham College's behaviour, attendance and academic expectations for a Year 12 student'.
For students who have made a payment to attend the Formal, payment must now be finalised.
For students intending to attend the Formal, and as previously communicated, I will be monitoring attendance over Term 3 (outside of the weeks of the HSC Trial exams), particularly for students whose current attendance is below 85% in courses.
I encourage all students to build on improving and maintaining consistent attendance in all courses. Periods of Work Placement, school excursions/representation, travel to and attendance at TAFE or SBATs, approved leave and explained absences will be taken into account when monitoring and following up attendance.
A review of all students' attendance will again be made in Term 3.
You are all so close to the end of your schooling and to your HSC - make EVERYDAY count.
2024 HSC Students - correct address in Students Online
To ensure the formal HSC certificate qualification is sent to each student’s correct address, please ensure accuracy and update all student details in Schools Online by the end of August 2024.
This is to ensure all HSC graduates receive their credentials in the post and don't need to pay for a replacement.
You can do this via the link: NESA: Students Online - for NSW students in Yr 12
A student’s NESA number can be found on their student ID card or see Kellie if there are any questions or difficulties.
I look forward to continuing to work in partnership to support all students as we move towards the end of their time at Wyndham College.
