The Yaluk building is Officially opened. We had an enjoyable event on Monday when the ribbon was cut to open the building. The student leaders assisted in guiding special guests through the building. Over the next few months we will observe how the design of the building improves the amenity and educational outcome for the students and staff.
We need to thank the project team starting with the team from Musk Architectural Design for some of the unique and interesting features of the building. McColl Smith Projects delivered a quality building that we are proud to showcase to parents and visitors. Whilst on site for 18 months the school developed a positive working relationship with the builders so that the safety and well being of students was at the forefront of onsite activities. Bridge 42 Project Managers kept the project on track ensuring all contributors completed their tasks in a timely manner. The Victorian Schools Building Authority oversaw the building project and ensured that the building complied with all expectations.
We are looking forward to the School Performances later in the month that will use the gym and the performing arts stage space. The new luxury stage curtains were provided by the schools Fundraising Committee. We thank everyone who contributed to fundraising over the last few years as your efforts are in full view everytime we use the curtains.
Again thank you to students and staff who managed without playground 6 whilst the building works were happening.

The Primary building works are near completion, windows have been replaced and a roof has been added over the valley. The Primary toilet block and walkway have been reroofed and new guttering added, Rooms 20-23 have a new roof and guttering.
Emergency Maintenance Program
A meeting was held this week with the VSBA approved tender company to repair the sink hole and underground pipes in the bus loop. An assessment will be completed later this week to decide the scope of works for the repair.
HEATING FOOD AT SCHOOL
From an Occupational, Health and Safety perspective, students' lunches should not be heated at school. This ensures the safety of all students by reducing the risk of burns and accidents.
If your child needs warm food at lunchtime, we recommend using insulated containers or vacuum flasks to keep the food warm until it is time to eat.
