Dear Parents and Carers,

Mini Olympics

As you can see from our photos all the students had a fun day at our Mini Olympics. We were very fortunate to have Regina Menz, the Director of Catholic Schools for the Armidale Diocese, as our special guest.  Regina also judged the Educational Presentations (won by Nepal), the March Past (won by India) and the War Cries (won by France). 

It was wonderful to see so many parents cheer the students along throughout the day.

Thanks to Mrs Bartholomew for her overall organisation and to all staff who worked with the students on their ‘Country Presentations’, supervised the students or helped with the food. It was a real team effort. 

Snow White Play

Preparations are well underway for our whole school production of the play SNOW WHITE & the Seven Dwarfs, which will be held in the first week of September. We are very fortunate to have the support of a Creative Arts Grant from the Catholic Schools Office so this special event will have no cost for our families. 

Students have been busy learning lines and dances, while staff have been busy painting backdrops, ordering amazing costumes and getting other props ready. Our PT & F are planning delicious snack boxes and Kate Thompson has been working on ticketing and creating wonderful invitations and programs for the performance. Tickets will  be available from this Friday the 9th of August. We will send you a link via a newsfeed and facebook. 

Rehearsals at the Royal Theatre will be on the following dates: 21st, 26th & 29th August & 3rd September. Please sign the permission note sent home via compass today. The Matinee Performance will be on Wednesday 4th September from 10.30am for local preschools, parishioners and the elderly in our community. The Grand Performance for families will be on Thursday 5th September at 6.30pm. I strongly  encourage students to attend school every day because it is really hard to practise if students are absent. 

Good luck to the students who are representing our school at the Diocesan Athletics Carnival in Tamworth this Friday 9th August.
